Correct, but..
I think they'll have to be evolved developments of the network "black boxes" like the entertainment/media servers and NAS's that companies like Netgear and Linksys are starting to make.

The joke used to be that most peoples VCRs had the time flashing because they didn't know how to set them, now most modern VCRs set it automatically, and we have online program guides for setting program record times for some DVR's.

A home server will have to be this simple to capture the mass market, and I think the consumer device companies like Sony and Toshiba have more of a track record in this area than MS.

Mind you if a future Windows Home Media server goes mass market without that kind of simplicity anyone in our business will make a fortune from support.
