And what, do tell, is wrong with that..?

I'm guessing you probably don't have any grandkids yet or live close enough to see them probably more often than you would like.

To the rest of the world who aren't lucky enough to see their family maybe more than once a year, it might be nice to see Jr's first steps, via video e-mail.

The bill doesn't have to be massive. I'm guessing you probably sign on using one of the cheap internet companies (i.e. PeoplePC, NetZero, etc...) that charge little for a standard connection. $30 to $50 is quite reasonable for DSL or Cable. And as it gets more popular and technology costs do go down, the price for broadband will go down too.
