Just because IBM is not part of this initiave does not mean is suspicious, come on; HP, SUN and other had started initiative very sucesfully in the past.

As an example... the whole concept of Client-Server, was not IBM's ideal computing world; HP, SGI and SUN adopted it and hitted hard Mainframe-SNA stuff.
