What about Sceptre?; $1300 1080p 42" LCD
I'm just curious how the Vizio units compare to Sceptre units, especially the 42" one mentioned in this article. Costco.com is currently offering the Sceptre 42" 1080p LCD model for about $1300. I had bought one earlier this year and the quality of the display was great as long as you were using the HDTV tuner or a high resolution input device (DVI, HDMI, even VGA, and also component cables, such as with an XBOX 360), but when using the built-in NTSC tuner, the quality was terrible, so much so that I ended up returning it (and I agonized over the decision, because all else seemed to be good).

So, I wonder how comparable the Vizio is feature-for-feature, and how different the pricing will be? I wonder how good their NTSC tuner is (let's face it, NTSC will still be with us a few years yet)?

Sorry, but I don't call $2000 affordable either. (NT)  3D0G | 12/18/06
