Musicmatch
I have tried Musicmatch with poor results. When I downloaded their client software, it wouldn't open on my XP machine. In addition, I got "driver conflicts" reported by the OS; these conflicts caused different things to become unavailable. The first try I lost my CD burnerand could not reload it format and reinstall. The second time I loaded the client I lost the ability to brouse my home network, I xould create another user and then browse, but had to report most of my applications to the new user, what a pain, format and reinstal.
I loaded the client on my wifes Win 98 machine and it installed fine and started to run, but stopped because my version of IE wasn't recent enough (I hate that buggy piece of crap and resent having to patch it let alone upgrade it). I upgraded to V6, what Musicmatch wanted to see, but it still sain I lhad an old version.
Since there is no tech support for the free version of Musicmatch client, none of the problems were fixed, the software was removed from both machines. I don't know if Musicmatch thinks people are stupid or what, who would pay for software that doesn't work in the hope tech support will be able to convince it to work (most of my experience with tech support is not very encouraging).
