This is an inaccurate and misleading statement. My first reaction was, "Why would there be an objection to that?" I had to follow links through two ZDNet stories (was that part of the plan?) to find a link to http://www.computertakeback.com/, which was the organization raising the complaints. Their front page didn't tell me anything but propaganda, so I searched their site for Unicor, and finally found the real reason: the Unicor program is unsafe for the inmates and does not properly dispose of the toxic waste.
Giving prison inmates something productive to do is an excellent idea, and it's hard to see why anyone would object to that. Abusing them and poisoning them is not a good idea, and that objection is easy to understand.
You need to pay attention and word your statements more accurately. - Posted by: darguz Posted on: 04/19/04 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
