Still rather have trees than concrete and pavement

yes there are studies that even say some trees contribute to the greenhouse effect or that newly planted trees have to go through a growth cycle of years before they can scrub the air or contribute sufficient oxygen levels but at least their emissions are natural versus a scientific invention or societal change. Concrete cityscapes and forest clearcluts contribute little and take away from the environment at rates that are not good at all, and we haven't seen the rest of the developing world using the same gas guzzlers for as long and strong as the developed nations, pave over their soils, create localized weather zones by the change in the landscape, etc etc. It adds up to too much of a bad thing when left unchecked.
