Electric only is too limiting
If you run out of gas, you can fill up anywhere quickly. If you run out of charge, you're in for a long wait, even if you stalled next to a plug.

Electric only cars are nice, but are strictly limited to local trips. OTOH, plenty of people have two cars and could live with one electric and one gas.

My biggest worry is those batteries. My portable tools never get the battery life promised.
