Greed is the problem
That's why you won't see power plants updated or alternative energies used on mass for at least 50 years. My opinion there as I've seen the greed of the Oil/Gas companies first hand. It will take laws but who want to be the politician to do that?

I'm not surprised by our impact on Global Warming. We caused it. Thing is everyone is pointing at green house gas emmisions when the real problem is not the emmisions but the ability to filter those emmisions. Cutting emmissions is useless because we are cutting down the rain forests of the world faster than we can cut emmsions and the planet its self produces tons of greenhouse gases that it used to be able to handle but we've impaired that ability. No one seems to want to talk about that. My guess is that people use wood for more than they use gas and oil. So gas and oil are the targets. What would you build a home out of without would. Can't grow crops with that forest in the way. I also wonder if the logging industry has as much pull or more than say the Oil and Gas industry? Now that's a scary thought, knowing what the Big Oil is capable of.
