Not so new
Been using a Mac for 10 years plus now, switched back in the
Windows 3.1 days and have never looked back.

So you have a problem with Apple selling a product, and then
replacing it with a brand new one when the first is defective?
This is a bad policy in your eyes? I have several experiences with
Apple service, and they've always been superb. I spilled a cup of
tea on my brand new PowerBook, and Apple replaced the
motherboard at no cost to me, even though it was completely
my fault. That's a $900 plus repair done gratis.

I don't know of any company that will let you use their electronic
device for a couple of months, then give you your money back.
Replacing defective products with a new non-defective one
seems pretty reasonable to me.

Or in your world do you expect them to give you your money
back and a pony, just to see you smile?
