Viley...I think perhaps it is you who does not
understand.

Pepsi as I used before owns it's formular and protects it with a vengence. Nobody else can make or sell Pepsi. Same with Coke. They do however compete. Even though both Pepsi and Coke own 100% of their given products.

Apple/Mac competes with a host of vendors. Dell, HP, IBM, Sun, MS, yes even poor old GateWay.

That is the competition that keeps Apple innovating and trying new things on a fast paced basis. Far faster in general than those others listed above.

Apple again has a very high costomer satisfaction rating, and has one of the best known and respected names in the world.

Also...You Viley, don't like Apple. Whick is hard to explain why you insist on posting to these articles? It's like a self inflicted wound. Hard to fathom the logic in such a action.

So what don't I understand?
