- MS doesn't make computer hardware

Oh, could it be the same reason they didn't consider Siebel? Or Oracle? Or Novell? Or Yahoo? Electronics Arts? GM? Or Proctor and Gamble - i.e. they don't make computing hardware? Probably the most powerful computing device MS sells is an Xbox 360 (and IBM/ATI designed the guts of that.)
