- That is why Sony deserves our respect

They don't just sell a product to sell a product like Microsoft.
Sony creates new markets (Blue-Ray), breathes new life into hardware (CBE: Cell Broadband Engine) and brings consumer confidence to the table (each console has a 6+ year life cycle).
Microsoft failed big time on the Dreamcast with poorly written software and an unreliable online service. Then they created a Xbox computer that lost them $3 billion in less than 4 years. So they upgraded it to a triple core (a third the cores of the PS3), 10 year old DVD drive, 10 / 100mb NIC (PS3 uses up to 1gb), and paltry 20 gig proprietory HD/.
The PS3 will be here in our hands and minds for another 6+ years. I doubt the Xbox 2 (360?) will be around beyond xmas 2008.
