A strong position on the Supercomputer list and domination of the server market are 2 very different things. Most of these computers are owned by universities and governments. They are not particularly profitable ventures. They are designed primarily to do BMPs (Big Math Problems),
such as predicting the weather or simulating nuclear bombs.

The commercial side is where the profits and volumes reside. Commercial computing is primarily databases.

Why does everything have to be about Intel-vs-AMD and Linux-vs-Windows with some inhabitants of these forums?
