Two separate things--with the Zune, someone can "squirt" you a song from their Zune, and it's limited to 3 listenings or 3 days (although apparently in practice it's often less than that and hearing just a few seconds counts as a "listening").
This is different from sampling a song at the Zune store.
Not sure how the Zune store works, but I doubt you can download songs and keep them for 3 days. I'm assuming you either buy them or rent them, but we'll see when the actual store debuts.
