please name a current bad amd chipset
Which chipsets are you talking about? Even the newer Via chipsets are widely considered to be rock solid these days. I have two new AMD machines with Nforce chipsets (built by me) that have not locked up once running XP pro since I've built them. I know of no one - and I mean no one - having any sort of problems with AMD procs or chipsets.

I'd like to be able to tell my friends what to steer clear of. Cuz I've seen nothing but rock solid performance since the K6 days relative to the Intel boxes I've owned or used.
