"By using namebrand products I have been able to thwart all virus attacks for the past two years, had no serious downtime."
Last time I checked, firewalls, anti-virus software and good computing practices along with reasonably maintained equipment result in no serious downtime. Brand has little to do with it. I've got white boxes I had built, installed into the server farm and properly forgot about with no maintenance at all. With the proper environment and setup, machines CAN run reliably.
On the other hand, the 60 someodd Dells we have in the office are constantly blowing hardware, we have 5 spares to swap in order to insulate users from downtime.
Brand name guarantees nothing except a big bill and long wait times on support waiting for Indian support personal to buck your call up to someone in the US.
You must be a Dell employee.
What they are saying about Intel is not bashing. Its simply true and a fact - Intel cannot compete with AMD's latest offerings, period. - Posted by: jay@... Posted on: 04/14/04 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
