Have you ever considered that complaints are formed with reason?

I *am* an IT professional. When I crack open a Dell, HP, or Compaq case and find rock-bottom peripherals clearly chosen purely for cheap prices on systems that cost far more than they should, that's a problem. When I see OEM rigs shipping without chipset drivers installed, that's a problem. When I see Dell moving customer support to India and racking up huge issues over it, that's a problem.

I'm GLAD Dell works for you. I've got no wish to see anyone pay good money for bad service. Can you get a good system from an OEM? Absolutely. But chances are, you won't. And in all honesty, since you, by your own admission, are NOT an IT professional, and do NOT work in this field for a living, I have to say that your ability to evaluate it is limited.

But I'm glad that you've had a good Dell experience. Whether I like Dell or not, I still don't want to see the end-user of any system get screwed.
