The key to the article was not about quad-core servers but the
use of quad-core CPUs in servers. Dell is the first to announce,
not Apple. My apologies.
My earlier response, though, was countered by someone who
wanted us to think that we could get that quad-core for $1,599!
I eventually noticed that said figure was for a minimally
equipped and licensed dual-core system that could not compare
in any way to the $2,999 Mac server who's price they had
lampooned.
I offer an article from InfoWorld - NOT a Mac-centric publication
- as a hint as to how - besides a second (both faster) CPU -
some of that additional cost could be justified.
