Just Kill Itanium single processor line
Let go of Itanium; allow the single 64 bit processor line to assume its natural state which - like the Titanic - appears to be at the bottom of the sea (was North America's Bering Sea suggested?). Good God you just can not make this kind of stuff up.

The IT industry has gone multi processor multi core. Environmentalists love that. You can even get appliance energy savings credits for switching out the power hungry singletons for multis. Only Microsoft/HP is interested in Itanium owing to the disclosure by Congress that HP has special pricing arrangements with Intel. Itanium is itanic. Let her go natural. Let her sink. The rats that came up with Itanium have already abandoned ship at Microsoft and HP.
