Copyrights and Patents
Guys... The problem is not with the idea of a patent (or copyright) ... The problem is the duration. This is what stiffles innovation. 7 years (or 100 years for copyright) is absurd in todays environment. Not sure what is appropriate... but 7 years is a lifetime today.

Secondly, Patents and copyrights should be licensed for a "reasonable" fee. The problem is.. they are not, they are used to stiffle competition. Of course, who determines "reasonable"??

They occasionally show up in the standards forums. Anything that is arrived at by concensus should not be filable.

Just my thoughts...
