MEMORY? We don't need no stinking memory
Unfortunately your thoughts are totally illogical. Where is the memory? What kind of question is that? You might ask where are all the transistors for the video, where are the capacitors that used to be on my video card? Well... the answer is what is called INTEGRATED. These things will all be a part of the motherboard in some way or video will actually be handled by the CPU itself and not by a separate processor like it was for many years before GPUs were born (see raytracing). Of course there will be defects, but what doesn't? I have had to replace my video card(evga 7800 gt) twice because of bad memory. If it were integrated I would just replace the motherboard. Same thing. Integration(done right) can only be better since things would be more coordinated such as timing and things that can't be done through an expansion slot on the motherboard. I personally hope that we get rid of GPUs completely and have CPUs that are powerful enough to handle both types of processing.
