I'm not sure that is ture for MS.
The cheaper the chips get and there for the computer gets means that the the cost of the MS OS and her software products such as MS Office will be glaring to the consumer.

I mean "IF" I were to spend $199.00 on a Pentium5 lets say with 4 gigs of ram and a 128mb 3D video card and $50.00 of that was the MS OS and if I wanted and office suite MS's product cost what $395.00. No I would try an alternative. Get my computer for $150.00 and go with Linux and some form of Open Office.

The cheaper a compute gets...The more expensive the MS tax becomes.
