Chip competition is in Microsoft's best interest
Perhaps they used to only support Intel, but was probably due to the fact that other semiconductor companies simply cloned intel's chips back then. I think Microsoft has an interest in supporting the competition between AMD and Intel, not just one or the other.

The more competition between AMD and Intel, the cheaper chips will be.

The cheaper chips will be, the more computers people will buy.

The more computers people buy, the more potential customers Microsoft has.
