I've had both Dells & Macs

The Dells were bought before Dell moved customer service to
India and the notebooks were OK, but not exceptional. the
customer service THEN was as good as Apple's is now - but that
was before they exported it to a third party in India.

The first Mac was a PowerBook I bought just before 9/11. On
the first trip the new TSA security managed to drop it on a rather
hard floor, where it bounced a few times. Some small cracks in
the plastic, but I just had to reconnect the keyboard and it
worked perfectly on a 3 week overseas business trip. the Dell
would not have made the trip after the TSA abuse.

Buy what ever floats your boat, but a lot of people, like me, are
repeat customers in the PowerBook.MacBook Pro market. You
simply get what you pay for.
