Plenty of Reasons - but one stands out

...OS X, anyone? And if you just can't wait until Adobe puts out Universal binaries of its CS stuff, just run it native in a Windows install with Boot Camp (not that I would be thrilled about running Windows just to make Photoshop go a little bit faster - even under Rosetta, Photoshop CS2 is still plenty fast).

Oh yeah, there's also the fact that it's not made out of flimsy, cheap plastic, with horrible Dell customer support and a software bundle that gets in the way instead of adding value.

Then there's all of that extra stuff - Firewire ports (400 and now 800), built-in 802.11a/b/g, standard dvd-burner, and a better gpu on the Apple even if the Dell's is also discrete.

*sigh* nobody looks at TCO/features when they play the price game with Apple.
