Hmmm,
Actually, BDC and it's progeny EBCDIC don't actually add decimal it uses a math co-processor (TSO101) to convert the decimal number to binary then back to decimal to get the result. Good grief, I can't believe I actually remember that from the IBM Principles of Operations S/360 and S/370 manuals I had when I first started writing code.
