Interesting thoughts. Note that having clones and a huge
market share also cuts way back on quality control. By strictly
controlling the hardware, Apple can make things work much
better than having to account for every single cheap piece of
trash that someone might one day put out. Having everything
"just work" is one of the huge advantages we Mac users have.

And as I've said many a time, who cares about marketshare,
other than bean counters and Wall Street types? If the company
is profitable, and their computers allow me to do everything I
want to do, that's plenty enough for me.
