Final words on Author20@

Enough is enough .. I will admit that it was fun in the beginning to poke fun at the posts of certain individuals. I realize, in retrospect, that taunting individuals with emotional issues is wrong. Examine a thesis such as the following :

"What would have happened if the HP Tracker Virus had gone unchecked?

Worse case -- compromise to national security, possibly death to many people.
In the best case, all computers attached to, and all computers communicating with the infected PC would have to be scrubbed. All hard drives destroyed and put into a vat of acid. This might be thousands of PCs and file serves."

Though I am not a psychologist, it is clear that such thoughts indicate clinical paranoia, and perhaps, even schizophrenia.

When an individual ceases to recognize the lines between fantasy and reality, and then begins to attempt to ACT (boycott etc.) on things beyond his/her control, it is time to step back and examine their motivations.

It is not unusual to feel resentment, jealousy, whatever, against successful, wealthy persons or institutions, particularly when one feels impotent or powerless in their own lives. Actually BELEIVING that they can affect those institutions, or being able to garner support of others in such a "grand cause" indicates delusions of grandeur. Behaving as though one is a peer and offering advice is symptopmatic as well.

Threatening to institute a lawsuit (contrary to First Amendment) against a fictional character and a publishing giant (when, in fact, for all intents and purposes, one is no more than a fictional character to begin with) displays a further disconnect from reality.

Some time ago, I decided not to fuel this individual's fantasies by responding directly to his/her posts. When Author20@ decided that we were somehow involved in a debate where he/she declared my "surrender" I realized there was little chance of any actual dialogue taking place.

To all those of you who have been disturbed by this pointless kinderspiel, I apologize.
