To all you apologists for Dunn
Listen up. The ends do not justify the means. The great battle of the last half of the twentieth century and probably the first half of this one will be about freedoms of the individual vs those of the corporate or national entity. Three things are at stake here:

1. The fourth amendment: The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

2. Freedom of Speech: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

3. Freedom of the Press: In Branzburg v. Hayes (1972), the Court placed limits on the ability of the Press to refuse a subpoena from a Grand Jury based on claims of Freedom of the Press. The issue decided in the case was whether a reporter could refuse to "appear and testify before state and Federal grand juries" basing the refusal on the contention that such appearance and testimony "abridges the freedom of speech and press guaranteed by the First Amendment." The 5-4 decision was that such a protection was not provided by the First Amendment.

Just so all of you understand, the issues of the definition of the Corporation as an individual and the only relatively recent (1972) definition of freedom of the press as well as the solid trends of a)loss of individual privacy through the internet and electronic communications and b)loss of individual freedoms guaranteed under the first amendment within corporate environments is what has made this case such an interesting and important one.

For the individual, I see that entity losing ground and I also see the next twenty years ending in some serious battles of the individual vs the state or the corporation. Already, any individual who challenges these entities finds themselves unable to find employment often and more often, outed from the mainstream of cooperative or corporate public discourse.

Such are the trends of the rise of the fascist CEO or Chairman of the Board.
