Actually it's about six months...
I installed the 9/12 updates on my WinXP Pro VAIO. Then I updated Office 2003. The next day, Outlook would not connect to the SBS server. Period. The server had been updated too. I could access the account from any other domain machine with a domain login, just not my box from within my profile.

Restore points didn't work at all. Creating new Outlook profiles didn't work either. Finally, went to Admin mode and deleted the local account after saving everything and created a new domain mapped account on that box and it worked okay but Zone Labs Internet Security Suite went kaput.

ZA would not install after completely purging all vestiges of it from the hard drive and registry. It turned out to be a registry permission problem and I really blame the clowns at Zone Labs for this issue but it was stimulated by the MS updates and workarounds to fix them. I tried manually repairing permissions and eventually hammering the pertinent keys but was never able to find and override a setting that would blow the ZA install.

Maybe it was a virus? Don't know but I always have AV and ASW running. The user forum as ZA was worse than useless. They have a set of generic "fixit" pages that you are told to use when you post any kind of installation error problem. I had already read these and tried them all before I posted. When I was repeatly told to try these after I said I had already, I told the usual bunch of forum lurkers to leave me alone and asked if anyone else had any ideas. The ZA user forum lurkers were not pleased that I felt that their efforts were rather miserable and of little use, so now not only me but everyone in my organization is BANNED from their forum because they use IP domains to block access. What a bunch of losers.

Anyway, back we go to the OEM Restore utilities and hours of hammering push-ware and reinstalling everything again.

Anybody tried Symantec Internet Security suite? I am looking to eliminate the Zone Alarm tools as they have seriously gone downhill in the last year.
