HP Investigations
HP simply didnot go about the investigation correctly and the investigators they hired used tactics that are on the edge to gain the information. In counter intelligence operations it is not always necessary to use pretexting. Most investigators including law enforcement and federal use pretexting to gain information. However, it is not necessary to use pretexting to gain access to records to discover leaks. Cellular telephone records would not necessarily lead one to the culprits nor would bank account records. HP just made a terrible mistake in hiring a PI company that id not know how to conduct a true counter intelligence investigation.
