Joe, you're right to get upset with HP

I really can't debate on what techniques the government uses as it would be "all talk", no lives hang in the balance if my POV or decision on the matter is right or wrong: To the person who's family has just been saved by info beaten out of someone, they might very think "the ends do justify the means". But that's life or death.

The thing with HP was all about ego, and nothing more, no lives hung in the balance, and in truth no harm was really done to HP with the leak of the information. And not only did they target the board members, when that didn't work, they looked at their family members? I would hope that should get someone's butt thrown in jail, and I feel that whether HP knew what tactics were used or not doesn't matter, they too should be penalized if only as an example to other companies that they are responsible for those that they hire; If they don't like it, then choose your investigators more carefully in the future.

Unfortunately, my position forces me to deal with HP, but at least its for printers only.
