How many journalists fabricated stories in the last couple years? Or faked some photos?
A handful out of several thousand? What is your profession? Has anyone in your profession ever done anything illegal or unethical? Does this now mean you share their guilt and have lost your rights because of their actions?
Have these specific journalists that were targeted, engaged in the behaviors that you are calling into question? (please cite source or link)It would be really refreshing if someone at HP had the guts to stand up and say that they stand by what they did and would do it again if necessary to maintain the confidentiality of their corporate information.
Ok, anyone else here see the hypocrisy of invading someone else's privacy to ensure their own?
Does HP have a legitimate right to protect their confidential information? Yes. Does this mean that the ends justify their means? No. How does their innablitiy to "run a tight ship" negate the privacy rights of others? And don't spout the B.S. about "having nothing to hide." If that were true, then why is there a large problem with identity theft? (Which is what pretexting seems to be about anyway.)Oh.. slap me silly. This is the New America where we don't want to offend anyone or stand up for anything because we are constantly wary of losing our place at the trough when the next election or board meeting rolls around.
Ok, how is this not an indictment of their actions? If, as you say, their actions were all above board, why should they worry about losing their place at the trough by coming forward? IMHO, the truth generally wins out in these things, so why not just come clean with everything? My suspicion is that they and their attorneys know that they are in some deep sh..stuff and are doing their best to keep their heads low to keep from losing them. - Posted by: Lord Talon Posted on: 09/21/06 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
