Many ironies

One can only speculate on the many possible ironies that lie in this corporate tornado.

... that a former freelance journalist would employ pre-text methods commonly used by investigative reporters and that the company's ethics dept. would go along with it

... that HP would hire a scheming, presumably vindictive, paranoid evidently dumb female to head the company founded by two male engineers neither of whom were scheming, paranoid or dumb types themselves.

... that HP would think that they can prevent leaks

... that HP believes it has anything worth keeping confidential

... that the media would be shocked that a company would play hardball

... that a company would attempt to play hardball with journalists who can obviously strike back much harder that HP could ever imagine

...just to name a few.
