The (non)cultural problem
I couldn't agree more on the stupidity of outsourcing this stuff. However, I have done email and chat support with reps from India, and so the accent is removed. What remains is 1) poorly trained tech support who only know how to repeat the same solution from the database to everyone, and 2) overworked reps who have so many chat windows open that a) they can't keep straight what they've asked who and b) they are told *not to reveal how many chats windows they have open*

The accent has been the least of my worries....
