HP has lost its way
HP used to stand for quality and integrity. If you wanted the best gear, the best instrumentation, the best lab stuff, you went to HP. They were never cheap, and HP usually stood for High Priced. But at least you knew what you were dealing with at HP; it was something you could count on.

I don't know this HP any more. Are they so small-minded, so fanatical, so greedy, so power-hungry, so dumb, that ethics and the constraints of the legal system and just common decency are beyond their understanding, much less their grasp?

Evidently they are. Too bad.
