- I agree, grow up Ms. Dunn - and stand your ground.
-
Ms. Dunn,
Please grow up and do what is right. Protect your company. Seal security breaches. Fire those that cannot be trusted. Admit to your actions and stand behind them. You may also wish to take courses on courage and leadership. Because sometimes it is hard to do what has to be done; no matter what the consequenses and even when everyone else appears to be against you.
Remember, everyone is angry because they can't believe that an employer would actually try to find out who is causing damage to the company. And Ms. Dunn, don't ever snoop on the press. They'll air your dirty laundry but don't even think about trying to air thiers.
All in all, I am sure you will be fired from HP. And that is propably a shame. Perhaps a company should show what happens to someone who violates company trusts. Perhaps you should have been more tough from the outset and expose the traitor and the other wrong-doers. But you got caught behind the eight-ball and now it is too late. Sediment is against you, and now it appears that so is the State of California. The AG must be trying to garner some votes.
I am not sure that I would have done the same thing as you, although, I would like to think that I would have done something similar. And would I have the courage to stand up for what I had done and the investigators I hired, I hope so.
Your biggest mistake was not to stand up for the investigation. Perhaps a statement like "I hired the investigators, ordered the investigations and authorized the investigators to use whatever legal techniques, even unscrupulous ones to get me the results needed to protect this company" would have put an end to this issue before it gained steam.
But now, because you cowered from taking responsibility for the investigators actions, heads will roll and one of them will be yours.
So, let me restate "Grow up Ms. Dunn and stand up for what you have done." - Posted by: YukonRay Posted on: 09/13/06 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
