No one forced you to read the story.
No one forced you to read the story. This is a Web sitfor Information technology news - and information technology is globalised. Most of your computer probably carme from Taiwan or Korea. So if information technology news happens in India - or Europe or Russia or Japan - then it belongs on this site.

I like the idea of a portable computing device whose specification is rightsized for a Third World market - and climate - but a production run of 50,000 in year one and a price tag of $240 make me wonder. Linux is a good choice, though; lots of developers are writing for Linux, and for sure they shouldn't add $100 Microsoft Tax for the privilege of running PocketPC. The price is still more than Palm Zire, for instance, but Zire doesn't do colour and audio.
