Think about what you just said...
"Device" is the operative word. Devices (aka "hardware") have costs (material, production, etc.) no matter what you run on them. The OS is what you put into the device. Without the device, the OS means nothing.

It's the same no matter what. People leap on the free OS angle and forget that you have to have something to run it on. I can download the Palm software for free all day, but without a Palm to run it on, it's just code. They're not selling code. They're selling a neat portable gadget that just happens to run a praticular type of coding.

I am not a Linux shill, nor a Microsoft slave. I just happen to believe that certain programs and operating systems work better with some things than others. i also believe that established technology shouldn't cost an arm and a leg.
