It's not that difficult

I moved to a PowerBook when I was in my late 50s after using
WinTels since the days of DOS. Using a Mac is actually pretty
easy, even for an old guy like me.

Software compatibility is easier to overcome these days. I had to
use VPC in order to demo a small, proprietary app and it was
fairly slow on the older PowerBooks. With the Intel chips the
ability to use Parallels for any version of Windows (or Boot Camp
if you want a dual boot) makes compatibility a non-issue for
most users. There is also more software for OS X than you
might think - for example, 16,000+ OS X apps are listed at
http://osx.hyperjeff.net/Apps/. Everything from freeware to full
commercial apps.

It will be interesting to hear your reaction when you have a
chance to see the new 24" iMac at the Apple Store - especially if
there is one that is set to demo Parallels.
