Why are MP3 players still so pricey?
It seems very strange to me how expensive MP3 players still are, especially the flash ones. SD cards are dirt cheap right now, so I can't imagine other forms of flash memory aren't as well. Even if they aren't, then why not use the cheaper memory?

I just bought a lexar player that uses SD cards for storage (I think I paid $30), and last week I picked up my third 1 GB SD card for $15 at the local Micro Center. I wouldn't mind buying a more expensive player with a rechargeable battery, etc, but so many of the mid size players are still hard drive based, and all of them are way overpriced in my book.
