Flamebait: you're a fool
I find it funny that I *regularly* copy around 10-20 gig sized
files (multiple copies at the same time -- both locally and to/
from networked devices) while I may have running:
Vidi - watching TV
iTunes -- Listening to music in the other room
Safari -- browser that smokes Internet Explorer easily
Mail -- no virus' here
Address Book -- dial my contacts directly with my free calls
(VoIP)
iCal -- keep those appointments
Maya -- finishing up those 3D architecture drawings
Garage Band -- creating my own music
iDVD -- burning a DVD for later watching
Quicktime -- encoding a DVD to MP4 for the plane trip

... and another dozen misc app's that are always running -- not
to mention the wife is logged in doing what she does...

And this thing is *SLOW*? Can't multi-task? I don't think so...

I Windows is the worst operating system I've ever come across
and am thankful I don't have to use it at home or work anymore.
Fundamentally flawed starting with how it handles kernel
messaging and it only gets worse from there -- which has been
all too obvious with all the virus', worms, and trojans (oh my!)
going around these days.

Enjoy your XP, and when you reload it, and buy Reloaded, and
reload that, and reboot, reboot, reboot. Sucker.
