Netburst is a dead end and this chip is a Frankenstein bodge job because Intel needed something to sell.

You're not comparing the entire system when you only look at the CPU power. The required Intel chipsets and memory take the overall system wattage higher than an AMD solution. Intel's lack of a high-speed interconnect strategy also limits real world performance. HyperTransport is a huge benefit for any application that uses memory.

Intel wins a small battle every once in a while, but they're losing the war.
