- While I do agree the Japanese do get stinking great stuff way before we do, if we ever do, the also pay for it. Not producing vaporware is not true. I remember Nintendo doing it a few times in the 80's-90's. Actually one of their vaporwares was going to be a partnership for a CD drive add-on for the SuperNES. Can you guess what its name was? Playstation. Can you guess who the partner was? Sony. Apperently Nintendo didn't like the deal or something (maybe due to the fact that cd's were becoming so easy to copy & Nin. hates that with a passion) & pulled out. Well, if you were Sony & had this consol already designed & basicly ready & were probably a little miffed at Nintendo, what would you do? Yup, release it yo self. Wonder what would've happened if Nintendo had stayed with the deal?
