I am a middle-aged man of chinese ancestry, and have experienced my fair share of disappointing products from southeast asia - technical in nature or not. However, we as Americans have succummbed to our own greed. We are willing to sell out to cheap labor to increase our own profit margins at the cost of our own economy. No race/ religion/ country is immune to that aspect of capitalism.

Yes, we should do something about it, but who has? NO ONE. NAFTA in the 90's started a bunch of complaints by many people. However, this generated zero change because no one who lost jobs were in the economic middle class of society, much less the rich/ upper class.

Now a bunch of engineers/ technicians/ programmers who make up a large chunk of the middle to upper class have lost their jobs, or fear that they will. Aside from complaints, I have seen little else. Competition is fierce and America once led the way. It can be that way again, but the common man must lead that charge. In case no one has noticed, only the richest remain unaffected regardless of the country's economy. Can't let that continue unless you want the have the "american dream" remain just that - a dream, never reality.

We need to force our politicians and the people who fund them (justified or not) to take care of the problems within our boundaries (unemployment, homeless, education, medical insurance, political/ corporate corruption, homeland security, etc) and worry less about trying to stick our hands into other countries' pockets. Again, we can not let greed - stemming from the richest in our society - to blind us from what we still have and can still claim or reclaim. Even more importantly, I believe America was a land of creation, and it still is. Opportunities can not only be had/ found, they can be created.
