Instead of increasing capacity ...
The way I see it the real business issue is'nt really around disk storage capacity. As it stands organisations have larger problems around managing all this data than creating it.

If disk manufacturers really want to make a big impact then they should look at how transfer speeds can be increased. As it stands, within large data stores, the real problem is I/O. That is a bottleneck that really hasn't been resolved. Yes we have SCSI & SATA but in large data store environments (i.e. Datawarehousing & BI applications) I/O has always been a problem.

Just my 2bits worth.
