Com'on, lightning is only the unexpected/unwanted side effect
They try to use nanotubes to generate ionic wind, which was a great idea, but ionic wind itself isn't new. "Lightning" is just an unwanted side effect. Have hundreds of volts discharging around the pins is - lack of a better word - stupid.

Only if someone can patent a way to "shield" the pins from high voltage discharge. Now that's an idea you can bank on.
