- Uh, I think you just described every company on earth
-
So what you're arguing for here is the abolition of private
property, the abolition of capitalism, and the abolition of
commerce. Hmm, interesting.
---Apple is the only manufacturer of Apple computers =
monopoly = high prices = low performance---
A dual processer G5 = low performance? Are you sure about
that?
Regardless, Pepsi is the only manufacturer of Pepsi-Cola. Pepsi
is the Soviet Union. Ford is the only manufacturer of the Ford
Escort, Ford = Soviet Union.
---Apple does not open iPod in favor of its own music-store =
monopoly = high prices (on iPod and songs) = less choices---
Huh? What do you mean by "Apple does not open iPod"? Do you
mean that you can't physically open the case? Or that they
haven't open sourced the code, and made the blueprints public
domain? Do you know that the iPod can play mp3 and AAC files
that don't come from the Apple music store? How is there less
choice involved? As for high prices, try to buy one of the hard
drives you find in an iPod as a standalone. You'll find that that
one piece of hardware costs as much as an iPod. As for high
prices on songs, the Apple store charges the same amount that
everyone else does, with the exception of WalMart. If only Apple
had the same market clout with suppliers that WalMart has....
---The
history shows that this Apple-Soviets model of business is
slowing down the progress---
So what you're saying is that allowing anyone any sort of private
business, any sort of patent or copyright protection, "slows
down progress". Sorry, but I'll stick with the authors of the
Constitution who allow for limited copyright as a means of
spurring progress forward. - Posted by: tic swayback Posted on: 03/25/04 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
