15% faster because of the RAM???
I seriously question that. Everyone has acknowledged that DDR2 clock for clock is SLOWER than DDR1. The latency is much worse.(CL 4 or 5 for example, vs. CL2-3) That's why DDR2 533 was only about equal to DDR1 400. So if that's the case, how is it that the 1st Opteron Rev. F's only support DDR2 400, which is SLOWER than DDR1 400. AMD admits DDR2 is not as fast at the same clock, and that's why they didn't support it until recently with the X2 AM2 chips. So how is it that they are faster with slower RAM. They should have released Opteron's with support for at least DDR2 667 Registered ECC. I even brought this up at the last AMD conference I went to, and they didn't have an answer for me.
